Masons Lodge Case Study
The Masonic Centre in Queen’s Road Brighton as originally built in the 1800s, and was donated to the Masons in the late 1890s. It was heavily modified and now has a predominantly art deco style interior.
The centre is used by 46 Craft Lodges from across Sussex to meet on Freemasonry matters.
This is the biggest project that The Replacement Lightbulb Company has worked on to date.
The building is a large period structure which originally operated as three houses. The rooms had old fittings and so the lights blew regularly.
We were drafted to work in tandem with other contractors to modernise the lighting system by installing LED fittings and light bulbs.
How we helped
To make the building fit for modern use, and to reduce the cost of energy consumption, we replaced the old lighting systems in two large rooms with LED fittings and bulbs.
This project required working at height, and so we had to be mindful of health and safety at every stage to make certain that the lighting was restored in a professional and efficient manner.
“I instructed RLC to replace our ageing lighting system within a large building to LED’s both to improve the running costs and to improve the aesthetics. I was impressed with their professional advice at all times and they were easy and friendly to deal with. What was also pleasing is that when we had a few design issues they were very helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend them.” – Rob Saunders, The Robert Saunders Partnership
